On 20th October of 2021, the Organizational Partners (OPs) of 3GPP have approved 5G Slicing Association (5GSA) as a Market Representation Partner (MRP) in the project. MRP is an organization that offer market advice to 3GPP and to bring into 3GPP a consensus view of market requirements (e.g., services, features and functionality) falling within the 3GPP scope.
5G Slicing Association (5GSA) an open global industrial organization which was established in February 2018, launched by a number of operators, equipment vendors，vertical industries, and 5G slicing ecosystem entities, aimed at enabling business transition and social development by 5G slicing technology with collaboration of industrial partners.
It is one key milestone for 5GSA to join in 3GPP MRP which allowing our members to strengthen the views and influence in 3GPP activities and slicing industry. As the bridge of vertical industries and organization for standardization, 5GSA will identify networking requirements from a multitude of vertical business domains, contribute to 3GPP and vertical industries with consensus view of market requirements, and to derive appropriate network slices that can provide value to various industries and the society as a whole.
